Flared Lace Smoke Ring

Motorcycle jacket totally optional.
This went too fast to blog about, even - and truth be told, I felt a little shamefaced over breaking my lace ban so quickly and over knitting something so visible in such a frivolous color. BUT - 1) it went so quickly it hardly even counts; 2) it's really cold outside, so this was utility knitting and 3) I just liked the idea of a pink wimple . So it was totally justified, and neccessary, and harmless, and...and...and don't you judge me.
Pattern: Flared Lace Smoke Ring, by Jackie Erickson-Schweitzer for Heartstrings Fiber Arts

Things that cover neck, head, and ears are always good for the colder months, I find.
Pink's not normally a colour I like very much of, but the deep rose certainly is pleasant to look at.

Wow, that's an awesome color! Something good to keep the "winter blues" and chills away.

Dammit, I need to stop looking at your blog! It makes my To Knit list grow like a weed!
Beautiful, just beautiful.

Damn, you are fast. I don't judge, I just sit in awe.
And it is very pretty!

ahh so your secret project is out! I love it (it's pink, I have to love it!), it looks great. And fast knits definitely don't count against any sort of rules or bans.

Its beautiful! You knit so quickly, its almost like you didn't break your lace ban at all :-)

Beautiful. The need for pink must be in the air. I bought a bright pink cord jacket today, for like.. no reason. And I usually avoid pink like the plague.
And of course it didn't count. Useful knits for yourself are always good.

You are really knocking the projects out! I love the Peacock Feathers Shawl(I have that pattern) & your lace scarf is stunning!! What a gorgeous color on you. :-)

Knitting warm, useful things is an investment in your health. If it just so happens to be beautiful ... well, wouldn't William Morris be impressed. :) Really, that's beautiful Eunny!

On my list for a long time: it's fab with leather. Utility aside, it's a delight.

Lovely! Is it a straight tube or has it any shaping to it?

Laura's post on Three Blog Thursday sent me over here, and to say that I'm impressed doesn't even begin to cover it. I thought that you should know that your Smoke Ring FO caused me to drop my needles on my current project (a scarf for my mom with icky boucle) and run right over to Elann to order the Heartstrings pattern and some yarn. I think she'll like this much better. Heartstrings should send you a commission!

I love this. It's not something I would have thought about making until I saw it here. What a neat idea.

Wow, I got inspired by your ring o' smoke and started mine on Christmas eve. Mine is a little funky, it is mossy green alpaca (knitpicks-gotta love them!) and knit mirror image lefty. I knit lefty and have trouble converting to righty sometimes, so on this project I decided to embrace my leftiness. Ned Flanders would approve.

Your smoke ring is BEAUTIFUL! I've had the pattern for a while, but can't seem to get to it. Or even to decide on yarn (the last one I tried I didn't like).
I was wondering why you decided to change the double yarn over to single ones.
I'm very new to all of this.
Oh, and thanks for that fabulous article in IK!
