The bag is looking great, but sewing that strap on has got to to be hell on your fingers.
If you do decide to get a thimble, they have a good one on Joann fabric: http://www.joann.com/catalog.jhtml?CATID=82297&PRODID=11935&source=search
The coin holds the needle in place so it is very easy to use, also as of sunday night the coupon code nova550 is still working, and it is good for 50% off.
Try a sailorshand thimble from a marine supply company.
Used to repair sails on boats. It straps around the palm and has a thick mess metal circle at base of thumb so your finger don't have to do all the work.

That bag handle looks like it would try my patience. It will look so nice when you're done. Can't wait to see.

I can't even see the whole bag... but really that looks amazing. I like the leather strap around the entire bag idea a lot.

This is going to be so beautiful. I wonder where you get your crafty supplies? Would they be available online?

Yikes. The good news is that despite the sore thumb, the bag looks great and the strap looks like it's perfect (from what I can see :-))
