Can I just gush over how much I adore your website make over? Just so . . . I LOVE it! But, then again, I seem to love everything you do.

I admire your good humor after having to rip out all that work; I would have had to gnash my teeth and wail for at least a little while (or are you doing that in the privacy of your non-web space?).

I have been destroying Addi's a lot lately pulling out the cords or warping the needles ( I twisted and bent a pair of 2's almost in half.) So I can truly sympathize with needle problems. It just sucks when they break and you have to start the project over.

This is so sad, but it's reassuring that you have occasional knitting-caused angst, too!

Gauge angst. Good lord do I understand gauge angst. It's particularly difficult with color work and yarn that you said feels more like twine than like wool. Is it springy at all? If not, be generous. Think of it as sewing with suede as opposed to cotton knit. Don't assume ANY give at all. I made that horrendous blunder recently. Actually repeated. Same gauge, totally different results because I was working in color and one yarn was springy, the other was not.

If I didn't already know that you knit at or faster than the speed of light, I might've shed a little tear at all the ripping out. But I know that we will be seeing that project again soon and it will be more glorious than ever.

Hmmm, I wonder if I had this same problem with the dreaded 3mm needle? I was knitting a beaded sweater last year and couldn't get gauge for the life of me with standard size 2 or 3 needles - so I eventually discovered the 3mm size, which sits right in between. I know you'll sort it out, and the finished product will be gorgeous!
