Texture Shell
Otherwise known as, "The Adventures of Little Big-Head"

I am really fond of this one, though a high boat neck isn't exactly the most flattering thing in the world for a busty girl like me. I like the sweet little details, though - particularly the way the cables continue into the hem and cross at the turning row. It works both ways - under a jacket at the office, or on its own after hours, accessorized only with skin.
Pattern: My own (pattern available someday)

Yardage: 3.5 50 gram balls (about 525 yards)

Gauge: 6 st/inch over basket weave pattern

Wow! That is one lovely shell. And you're right, I particularly like how the cables work into the hem.

I am kinda busty too, (I always wonder what busty girls do for low-back underthings??) but I love how it shows off how toned your back is! Plus, boat necks are so pretty.
SO NICE.

It's gorgeous! The low-v in the back is very sexy as well (another reason why this wouldn't work for busty gals.. how would we hold up our girlies?)
Posted by: Angela | May 9, 2006 02:34 PM
Lovely! I just adore those cables! I also saw pictures of it over on Saun Shine. :) So sad I missed MDSW, being a Baltimore girl & all . . .

Oh, it's LOVELY. Being a busty gal myself, I am not sure if I could pull it off, but you look stunning in it. Your knitting is an inspiration, and always makes me crave needles and yarn in my hands here at work. Oh, and it was awesome seeing your name in the current IK issue!

Posted by: jess | May 9, 2006 02:56 PM
I love how it turned out. I'm rather busty too so I agree on the boatneck. A rather subtle drapey neck would be fantastic too.
Posted by: Nancy | May 9, 2006 03:07 PM
Oh my. That turned out just lovely. Soooooooo, how long exactly before the pattern is available???? ;->
Posted by: knittingnurse | May 9, 2006 03:08 PM
Two thumbs up! Do the boatneck and the tight armscyes prevent the shoulder "sleeves" (not really sleeves or straps, but you know what I mean) from falling down?
Posted by: June | May 9, 2006 03:09 PM
love it! the details are what makes this one sing. i'm a big fan of wearable knits and this one -- as you said -- does double duty in the office or out on the town.
it's wonderful.

Posted by: grumperina | May 9, 2006 04:27 PM
Oh my, I love it! Hope you won't wait to long to put up the pattern! I would love to knit it, though I might the back a bit more similar to the front. I don't have much to go on the front so boat necks are super for me!
By the way, I recently finished a Deep V Argyle vest and posted a picture on my blog (both of the vest bloking -a few days back- and of me wearing the vest). I'm in love with your patterns! Keep writing them please, I'm among the first ones to buy them!
Love!

Posted by: natalie | May 9, 2006 09:55 PM
Eunny, that is fabulous! To think that you designed all that and then KNIT it is simply amazing!
How much time a day do you spending knitting? That seemed to go pretty fast.
Posted by: Kyla | May 9, 2006 10:03 PM
Well done Eunny! Actually the boat neck suits you quite well, and that back is so elegant. The whole outfit is tasteful.

Looks great, Eunny. It was fun to see this come together! :)
Posted by: Lolly | May 10, 2006 12:00 AM
What a gorgeous top. I love it. It is hard trying to knit things to fit in with your bust size. I too am on the larger size, but at least you have a good figure to go with it. I have the spare tyre look, so I just look dumpy. Cannot wait to see a pattern for it when it becomes available. How clever you are.
Posted by: Sue | May 10, 2006 03:11 AM
Oh Eunny, it's lovely! :-)
Posted by: terhi | May 10, 2006 04:26 AM

My dad would probably get a heart attack if I wear something like that ;p
Posted by: yuvee | May 10, 2006 04:37 AM
Stunning! You look so fantastic and the design is awesome! Very beautiful pattern.
I'm also really curious how it works with a bra, being quite busty myself and could not even imagine going without (damn that gravity!).

I saw a pic of your shell being modeled at MDSW over on Saun's blog. It's amazing and you are a phenomenal knitter/designer. (and fast too)
Posted by: E to the M | May 10, 2006 10:12 AM
That is a great top and don't worry I don't think that anyone is going to look at that on you and say that it is unflattering.
Posted by: Cheri | May 10, 2006 10:15 AM
It's a lovely top... but what are you wearing for a bra. Enquiring minds want to find something like it. :)

Eunny, Your talent is genius in category. That top is awesome. Your technical skills are exemplary. I can't wait to see what you design next!
Posted by: Leslie | May 10, 2006 11:02 AM
Wow. That is the first knit item I have ever seen that is both classy and sexy. You did a great job with it. That's the kind of "leave something to the imagination" top that would drive any man crazy.
You rawk! Love it! :D
Posted by: KnittyOtter | May 10, 2006 11:40 AM
I think it's stunning. The details are so charming and the back is just fantastic. I don't think it's unflattering at all, rather that it fits well and is striking.
How many adjectives can I say that mean "fabulous!"?
Posted by: AmyH | May 10, 2006 12:34 PM
I think the boatneck looks fine on a 'busty' girl like you. My question is this? What kind of a bra do you wear with it? Being busty myself, anything cut down the back makes the bra issue a real conundrum. And the world is not ready for me without a bra. BTDT and caused a man to walk into a pole in a bank parking lot circa 1982.
Thank you thank you thank you Miss Eunny for having some style! I am constantly amazed at the number of women who have these marvelous gifts and can make AnYThInG! yet go around looking like a dumpy mop woman. Could be the midwest, but knitters, you must step up to the plate and embrace and accent your own beauty. Low self esteem is VERY unappealing as a personality trait. This girl is on the right track. And bless her soul for it. Youth is definitely not wasted on her.
Posted by: Kate | May 10, 2006 12:51 PM
The sweater is gorgeous. I love the boatneck on you, and this is coming from a busty girl myself! I think that boatnecks are flattering to bustier figures because it draws the eye up to the shoulders and gives a "lift" overall. Beautiful job! Can't wait for the pattern!
Posted by: Faith Fiberflash | May 10, 2006 12:51 PM
You do beautiful work :o)
Posted by: Jess | May 10, 2006 01:10 PM

Posted by: Allison | May 10, 2006 07:13 PM
OOooooh, nice, really nice knitting! My favorite part? How the back curves and hugs the backbones - pretty nifty knitting there. And the patterning is wonderful. (ps - I take hand-me-downs in this case...:))
Posted by: Terry | May 10, 2006 09:54 PM
Beautiful...simply beautiful!!
It was great seeing you & getting to talk to you at Clydes (even over the loud misic)
Posted by: Eilene | May 10, 2006 10:52 PM
