Anemoi Mittens - FAQ and Errata
Frequently Asked Questions About This Pattern
What yarn did you use?
For my pair, I used Louet Gems Opal Pearl, of course in the color Tobacco, and Koigu KPM in very light, almost cream beige. Any fingering-weight yarns should work just fine, as long as you can reach the given gauge.
How about a solid pattern yarn and a variegated/self striping/ombre-style yarn for the background?
That would look fantastic! Just one thing to keep in mind: make sure your contrast color is either darker or much lighter in value than all the shades in your multicolored yarn to ensure the pattern's "readability".
What needles are required?
A set of 2.00mm (US 0) DPNs for the cuff (all sizes) and a set of 2.25mm (US 1) DPNs for size small; 2.5mm (US 1.5) DPNs for size medium; and 2.75mm (US 2) DPNs for size large. Sets of 5 DPNs are recommended.
Errata
- In the cuff directions, both Round 1 and Round 2 of the corrugated rib should read "...end k1MC, p1MC" instead of "end k1MC".
- In right and left mitten charts, the chart key should show a blank square as the main color and the dotted square as the contrast.

Hi Eunny -
Which tubular cast-on method do you advise (if any)? I've seen several around, but have never used one.

Just wondering if you use knitting software, or if you've developed your own system. I'm on a Mac, and it seems that all the software I've come across is for PC. Know of any Mac knitting software?

Eunny, everything you design, I love. Downloaded the pattern as soon as I saw it, and I can't WAIT to knit it! Is it wrong that I want to forego all of my gift knitting just so I have a pair of my own ASAP?

The mittens are beautiful!!
How do you think it would look with one solid color and one multicolor yarn?

They are so lovely!
One quick question - what needles are required?

Thank you for the errata! I started mine yesterday (nearly as soon as I printed the pattern!) and found that error immediately. I figured it out though, and planned to email you this morning. Looks like you've already got a handle on it!
As for the corrugated ribbing.. blech, blech, double blech. It may be Christmas by the time I get this first one done! ;) I'm sure they will be worth it in the end though. I have no niiiice fingering in my stash. I do have sock yarn though. I chose a solid cream Kroy socks for my MC and a variegated fall colors for my CC, it will be interesting to see how the pattern knits up with the color changes of the variegated. I'm approaching this as a test run!

I just downloaded the pattern for these, and I can't wait to find the perfect yarns! They really are beautiful! I'm thinking about using a moderately fluffy white as one yarn and a multicolored one as the other. I'm sure these will please my grandmothers when they both get a pair next christmas.

I downloaded this pattern yesterday and almost finished the first mitten. They are so beautiful. I am using Kauni yarn and am not entirely sure if its perfect. But the pattern is for sure. Thanks for creating something so beautiful and easy to understand at the same time.

Hi! I'm sort of new to your site, and have been stalking this pattern for about a week - it's just beautiful! I purchased one color yesterday, and had to order the other, but as soon as I get the other color, I'm starting them!
I do have one question though. It may be completely obvious, but I'm having trouble telling which color was used as the main color, and which one is the contrasting color in your photo? Is the Tobacco the main? and the creamy color the contrasting color?
Maybe it will tell me this in the pattern, which I haven't downloaded yet...

I'm loving the pattern. I'm a little confused by what you mean by "slip stitch row" and my googling has come up empty.

I wonder about that (the "slip stitch row") also...maybe I'm too new of a knitter...
Also, you can ignore my last comment...it was kind of a stupid question and I figured it out by just reading the pattern :)
