This is 4.5 repeats of the center panel. I'm going to stop there, because this is already 28 inches long, and I don't want the stole to be too, too long. Plus, my forearms can't handle much more of this knitting! I think I must have a death grip on the needles to do all those k2togs, because my arms get achy after a few rows on this stole. So the sooner I finish it, the better for me and my forearms. After looking at my boring cream color, and everyone's lively, bright colors, I'm slightly regretting the decision to opt for cream. Don't get me wrong, I really like it, but the colors just pop! Love everyone's colors. Oh, and that's Mia, my Maltese with her broken paw, in the picture because she wouldn't get out of the way!

Melissa, that's just beautiful, and the cream is elegant. Don't second-guess your tremendous instincts.
Re: the length - I've been fretting over it also. Would it work to do it "backwards" - after your 4.5 repeats, instead of continuing with the First Border, put those stitches on a holder, and follow the instructions for the Second Border(picking up the invisibly cast on stitches where we started.) This way, we could see exactly how much length each border will add, and can then add another central panel repeat if we want.

Oooh, that's a really good idea! I'm going to do that, work it backwards. Because I'm unsure how long the border part is going to be also. I did some math with the gauge I got on the center, and calculated the row count and according to what I came up with, mine should measure a total of 69 inches before I put on the edging. We shall see!

Gorgeous! I love the cream - it's understated and classic. Beautiful.
And your dog is adorable. I take it the hot pink cast was her idea ;)
